A Rose of this Garden

And yet again,
A rose of this Garden died
Killed by the thorns-
The ones who never understood
The significance of her existence.

Yesterday did it bloom,
Unaware of this world
But still alive, happy and pure
Carefree, playing with her own petals,
Not knowing, at all,
If it would continue forever.

And before she ever knew,
She was in the hands of a predator
Very far away from her little, beautiful garden
Where she thought everyone was as good as her.

Got no absolute chance to voice out,
That she was yet new to this world.
Her words got muffled
And trust got broken
And in minutes that situation taught her
How heartless was this world
Outside her little garden.

In her mind, only one question
What did I do to deserve this?
What did an eleven month do?
And what did a five year old?

What did the the rose do,
To go through this unbearable pain?
When she was just playing,
And getting to know herself first.

But now she's no more alive.
Her petals are all torn
And her stem is completely broken.
With things in her which had no space for.

But will your rallies bring back the rose?
Will your candle march give him the same pain?
Will your protests calm down the rose?
Will your supportive feed fix her trust?
Will your debates bring the peace back?

Sadly, no.
Never.
Instead, the rose would laugh
At all of these people
Who pretend to be supportive
When they were never there to help
At the first place.

Stop rape before it becomes any other normal thing.

The Fear of Tomorrow

What are you so scared of? No, not stuff like ghosts and darkness. Situations. Near-to-death situations? Maybe. Situations where you thought that you would literally die- when the problem was as petit as not completing your work before the deadline. Don’t say you aren’t afraid. Afraid of your boss, teachers, parents, people, friends, family, etc. because we all are, and continue to. We get so scared of minute responsibilities. Such situations thrash us almost every day which pile up tensions, anxiety, and fear.

But hold on, take the deepest breath your lungs can take, go out for a walk, listen to your music and relax your soul out. Let it all go. Don’t think about what others would do and think. Don’t think about what tomorrow holds. They are not going to kill you and you’re not going to die. Take a step back from your hectic life and realize all that you’ve been missing, all this time. Go out and do something other than your everyday chores. Spend time with your family and friends. For a while, forget about the important presentation you have to give the next morning and go for a midnight drive. Don’t wait for the time to ‘enjoy’, when you have to take the time out for it. Forget this world and remind yourself about you.

The Festival of Raksha Bandhan!

Namaste!
Wrists full of Rakhis and bags full of gifts!
It's finally the 26th of August and the most awaited day for all the siblings celebrating Rakhsha Bandhan. This festival celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters when the sister ties a thread (amulet), called as Rakhi, around the wrist of her brother, praying for his prosperity, who in return promises to protect her and gifts her a present. This remarkable festival is celebrated by a vast number of people with huge excitement with days of preparation for their beloved siblings.

A quote I wrote for my sister,

"Anyone can live without friends if they have a sister like you"

Happy Raksha Bandhan!

Deepalya, with love.

Quote of the Day

"Rub the past, color the present, and draw the future."

Tammy,

I wrote this poem when I was 12 years old, for my dog who died on 29 Nov 2015. Her name was Tammy. Here it goes,

Yesterday I was thinking
‘If you were gone forever,
What would happen to me?
Will I ever be happy
Without my love?’
Then a voice inside me said
“She came into your life
To bring you the delight
No one could ever give you
Despite the limited time”

But if you gave me so much,
Did I give you back?
I know you deserved better
At least not Pedigree,
That you never liked
And we never fed you.

You were like a human for us
Our extremely essential family member
Who slept with us
On our laps

You were like a diamond
Preciously did we keep you
You got so much excited for
The car ride, potatoes, chocolates
And we never denied.

But now it’s been too long
No bark, no cry, no paw-steps, nothing.
You never deserved anything bad
So God gave you very less pain.

But it’s nature and so,
Everyone has to leave
And so did you.

It’s been a long time-
Since I’ve ever touched you,
Kissed, hugged, and slept with you.

Now I don’t know who you are,
And what God has made you this time
But whoever you are now,
We will be waiting.
Please come, visit us.

Love you baby.
